They commit excess ir Religion who assert that:
"The Messiah, son of Mary, is Allah." yet, the
Messiah himself has said, "O' Children of
Israel! Worship Allah, my Lord and your
Lord,
Islam brought the Truth, clear and direct,
confirming the true part of the previous religions,
and corrected and rejected the mistakes and
falsehoods that developed in them. Islam came as
the last religion of Allah, complete, whole, and
perfect.
Ø
Allah is the Supreme Being. He is unique in His
essence, characteristics, fundamentals, and
sovereignty.
Ø
Humans are similar to each other in constitution,
physical and mental, characteristics, and needs.
The essence of humans is very different from the
essence of the Creator—Allah.
Ø
The Quran emphasizes repeatedly the Singularity of
Allah, the Creator, the One to be worshiped,
served, and whose Guidance is to be followed. The
Quran rejects the Trinity and calls it blasphemy.
It rejects attributing any partner to Allah. The
Quran rejects the deification of any human, be it
Jesus the Messiah, Simon Magus, Mithras, or others.
Ø
The rejection is such that it calls the Trinity
believers blasphemous, and any who claims
Christ is Allah is blasphemous and in grave error.
Ø
Jesus Christ claimed to be a Messenger of Allah and
a Prophet of His, and nothing else. He often
warned his contemporaries of that fact and said,
"O' children of Israel, worship Allah, my Lord and
your Lord." Thus Allah is the Lord of Jesus
Christ, as He is of humanity, and He is the One to
be served, worshiped, and glorified.
Ø
Jesus preached as any other Prophet, he was a man
of truth and goodness. His Message was the same
Message as that of other Prophets, since the
Message of Allah is the same throughout the ages.
A Message calling for the belief in Allah the
Supreme Being, the Singular, the Merciful and the
Loving, to worship Him and to serve Him.

surely he who ascribes partners unto Allah, Allah
then, deprives him of Paradise, and his abode is
the Fire, and the offenders will find none to their
aid."
The Ayah continues what Jesus Christ was saying
to his contemporaries, "Surely, a person who
ascribes partners unto Allah, Allah will deprive
him of Paradise." This is the exact same as every
Prophet has said. Every Prophet calls his people
to believe in Allah the One, and Jesus was no
different.
Any beliefs different from Allah's teachings
are false, and their adherents are blasphemous, and
they are disbelievers. The Messiah Jesus was a
good man, a man of truth, a Messenger of Allah, but
if his contemporaries ascribed partners to Allah,
then Jesus tried to correct them promptly.
Ø
The Messiah warned them as this Ayah testifies, if
anyone insists on associating partners with Allah
he will deviate from Allah's Message. Such people
will deprive themselves of Paradise, instead they
will have an abode in Hell-Fire.

Blasphemous are those who say: "Allah is one of
three in a Trinity"
(because) there is no Deity except the One Deity
Allah emphasizes that it is blasphemy and
disbelief to associate any with Him.
Neither Jesus Christ nor any other Messenger of
Allah claimed anything except the Oneness of
Allah. Such notions as the Trinity were added
later by the people and unfortunately became a
central point of theology in Christianity. They
remain man-made, false, and untrue.
There is no such thing as "the father, the son, and
the holy ghost"; instead there is Allah the
Exalted, and humans are to worship Him, among whom
are the Prophets including the Messiah Jesus.
Angels are to worship Him too, among whom is
Gabriel, who is the Holy Spirit itself.
Everything is subject to Allah and His Sovereignty.

And if they do not desist from what they say, then
a painful doom will befall the ones who disbelieve.
The central theme is the Oneness of the Deity,
Allah, and for people who do not believe so there
is a painful doom awaiting.
One may ask what is it that makes the Trinity
so unwholesome?
The Trinity is not truthful, it is man-made, it
is false, and Allah loves only the truth. To
associate another with Allah reduces the stature
of Allah in the minds of His followers. It is
difficult for the human mind to give Allah (swt)
what is due Him or to appreciate Him sufficiently,
let alone by having man-made theory that reduces
that capacity.
If Allah's image is drastically reduced by
associating others with Him, be it a Trinity or
otherwise, then the foundation of the faith
is undermined. If this happens, a chain reaction
will take place, and the Divine Guidance suffers.
If Islam has come to confirm what is true and
reject what is false in previous religions, if the
Trinity is blasphemy and a disbelief, then
indirectly Allah is saying that everyone is to
follow Islam.

Will they not then turn to Allah and seek His
pardon? and Allah is Oft-Forgiving, All-Merciful.
Allah hasn't closed the door in the face of
believers in the Trinity. Instead, Allah has
warned them about the blasphemy while opening the
door of His forgiveness. It is best for such
people to turn to Allah and seek His forgiveness,
says Allah, since He is the Merciful and the
Gracious.

The Messiah, son of Mary, was but a Messenger,
Messengers have preceded him,
This Ayah confirms that the Messiah was a human
like any other, and a Messenger of Allah, one in
the long chain of Messengers.
People should not have deified him, nor made
him one of three in a Trinity. The matter is
straightforward, simple and clear.
Jesus, the Messiah, was a privileged man, born
to his virgin mother Mary by Allah's direct
command. He was chosen as Allah's Messenger and
preached in a correct way, just as other Messengers
did.
|
His mother was a truthful woman; and both used to
take (earthly) food.
This Ayah testifies that Mary, the mother of
Jesus, was a righteous woman, a woman of virtue.
Both she and her son were good human beings and
they needed to:
·
eat like other humans to sustain
themselves,
·
breathe to live,
·
sleep to rest, and they had the same
needs as other human beings.
This in itself is sufficient evidence that the
two were just two humans.
The matter concerning Mary is similar to that of
her son, Jesus the Messiah, both were good servants
of Allah and were honored to be of service to Him.
There is no place for Mary in a Trinity either,
nor to make of her the "Mother of God," or to deify
her.
|
Behold, how We do make (Our) signs clear to them,
yet, behold (how) they are turned away (from the
Path)!
Allah (swt) addresses Muhammad (pbuh) saying:
see how We clear the matter to people, how the
Oneness is easy to accept, and for the heart to
receive it, and for the mind to acknowledge it.
See how pure and simple the truth is, it is
uninvolved and natural—yet many people are in error
about it, arrogantly so!
|
Question them (O' Muhammad): "Would you rather
worship besides Allah what possess for you neither
harm nor profit?" and Allah! He is the
All-Hearing, the All-Knowing!
"Which is better," this Ayah says, "to worship
Allah the One Supreme Deity, or to worship humans
that people deify? Humans who are like you, who
can hardly benefit you or harm you in true sense,
since Allah's is the real Power?"
Naturally our welfare is with Allah (swt) and
our destiny is in His gentle hands. And if the
matter is that clear and simple then common sense
dictates that we follow Allah.
Pay attention to the way this Ayah is
delivered. Allah refers to all His creation by the
word "Ma" which means "that which". This is
deliberate, so as to put all creation in one
category. Thus, Jesus, Mary, Gabriel (the Holy
Spirit) are put together in the same category with
other creations. This is to indicate the
essence of the nature of the created, which
is far removed from the essence of the Creator
Himself.

This selection
in brief:
-
Allah (swt) points out that he
who believes "Christ is Allah" is committing
blasphemy.
-
Christ declared that any who
ascribes partners unto Allah will be doomed in
Hell.
-
Allah also points out that he who
believes "Allah is one in a Trinity" is
committing blasphemy.
-
Once more Allah points to the
truth, that He, being the Deity, is One and
Singular.
-
The disbelievers will end up in a
painful doom, in Hell-Fire.
-
Allah's grace and mercy are vast,
thus Allah invites people to believe in Him in
the correct manner, so they will be saved.
-
Christ was Allah's Messenger and
no different than other Messengers before him.
-
Mary was a woman of truth, but
not "Mother of God."
-
Mary and the Messiah Jesus were
humans, subject to the needs and necessities of
other humans.
-
Allah says "worship Me and follow
My religion" and this is best; and He also says
"He who worships others is certainly in error,
and stands to lose".
